Spectral induced polarization: frequency domain versus time domain laboratory data

چکیده

SUMMARY Spectral information obtained from induced polarization (IP) measurements can be used in a variety of applications and is often gathered frequency domain (FD) at the laboratory scale. In contrast, field IP are mostly done time (TD). Theoretically, spectral content both domains should similar. practice, they different, mainly due to instrumental restrictions as well limited range measurements. Therefore, possibility transition between domains, particular for comparison FD data TD results, would very favourable. To compare we conducted experiments FD. We started with three numerical models test circuit, followed by several investigations different wood sandstone samples. Our results demonstrate that differential polarizability (DP), which calculated decay curves, compared phase complex electrical resistivity. Thus, DP first visual data, also enables fast discrimination Furthermore, qualitatively, relaxation distribution (RTD) all data. The agreement however, depending on quality. It striking RTD better higher quality TD. Nevertheless, carried out almost equivalent results. good comparability

seismic texture recognition in time-frequency domain

in seismic exploration studies different types of techniques are used to recognize seismic features in terms of their temporal and spatial spectra. variations in frequency content are sensitive to subtle changes in reflection information (castro de matos et al., 2003). in this study the joint time-frequency analysis is used for seismic texture recognition. discrete wavelet transform (dwt) witho...

Frequency domain versus time domain methods in system identification

For some reason I now forget, Keith Glover and I were asked to prepare a discussion paper on frequency and time domain methods in system identi cation by the organizers of the IFAC symposium on System Identi cation in Darmstadt 1979. I visited Keith in Cambridge in April 1979 to prepare our paper. It later evolved into an Automatica arcticle. Since then, there has been a useful development of s...

polarization-insensitive time-domain OFT

We have demonstrated the generation of a 320 Gb/s NyquistOTDM signal by rectangular filtering on an RZ-OTDM signal with the filter bandwidth (320 GHz) equal to the baud rate (320 Gbaud) and the reception of such a Nyquist-OTDM signal using polarization-insensitive time-domain optical Fourier transformation (TD-OFT) followed by passive filtering. After the time-to-frequency mapping in the TD-OFT...

Bayesian inference of the Cole–Cole parameters from time- and frequency-domain induced polarization

The inversion of induced-polarization parameters is important in the characterization of the frequency electrical response of porous rocks. A Bayesian approach is developed to invert these parameters assuming the electrical response is described by a Cole–Cole model in the time or frequency domain. We show that the Bayesian approach provides a better analysis of the uncertainty associated with ...

Para-Hydrogen Induced Polarization at Time Domain NMR Spectrometer

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) is a widely used spectroscopic method in a broad range of disciplines. Unfortunately NMR suffers from a low intrinsic sensitivity. The low sensitivity of NMR can be successfully improved by application of hyperpolarization technique called Para-Hydrogen Induced Polarization (PHIP) which was discovered in 1986 [1-3]. Till now, a substantial progress in the method...
